1 week in and I’ve managed a poem each day!

I’ve stuck with the suggested NaPoWriMo themes and today’s challenge was to write a tritina. This tricky little poem is made up of three tercets with the same ending words in each and ends with a line using the three keywords.

I wrote an ode to the goddess, Diana, so I chose moon, darkness, and Diana.

NaPoWriMo Day 7 – Tritina

Hail to thee, Diana,
Goddess over all that is steeped in darkness,
Sacred keeper of the moon.

By the silver light of the triple moon,
We pray to thee, Diana,
As hounds prowl in the grove’s darkness.

Your divine radiance cleaves the darkness,
So bare breasts bask beneath the ardent moon,
Praise be to thee, Diana.

Notch your arrow in the darkness, Diana, under the gaze of the crescent moon.
