In Day 11, the NaPoWriMo challenge is to end a descriptive poem with an abstract line “that doesn’t seemingly have anything to do with that object or place, but which, of course, really does”.

I have chosen to write today’s poem in the form of a Hay(na)ku.

NaPoWriMo Day 11 – Abstract Line

Soft
knitted blanket
warms my legs.

Sun
streaming through
the gossamer clouds.

Tannins
swirl in
the tea cup.

Magpie
warbling soars
and I’m terrified.
